Employee Spotlight: Margaret Cross, LPC-A

Tell Us About You.

My name is Margaret, but you can call me Mo. About 7 years ago, I found my way to Greenville and began my journey as a counselor. Before becoming part of the team at Evolution of Self Counseling & Consulting, I had the incredible opportunity to provide individual and group counseling in a variety of settings — from private practice and community mental health to a therapeutic residential facility. Each experience has shaped how I approach therapy and deepened my passion for helping people find healing and growth in their own lives.

What Do You Enjoy Most About Evolution of Self Counseling?

At EOS, the most enjoyable aspect is the collaborative and supportive environment. The mentorship and guidance provided by the owners of EOS has been incredibly impactful - the level of competence is unmatched. Additionally, I have the privilege of working alongside therapists who contribute greatly to this positive and empowering environment. Their valuable insights, encouragement and teamwork not only enhances professional development but also enhances the quality of care we provide to our clients.

What is A Career Highlight or Success?

Any success I’ve achieved as a therapist is rooted in the relationships I’ve cultivated with clients who courageously bring their full selves to therapy. I’m consistently amazed by the profound healing and transformation that can occur when clients feel safe, heard, and truly understood. Witnessing this process unfold not only reinforces the power of the therapeutic relationship but also reaffirms the privilege I have in supporting their journey toward healing and growth.

What Motivates You?

There is something profoundly humbling and inspiring about helping people who rediscover their strength, their voice, and the capacity for joy they thought they had lost. Experiencing trauma and abuse always steals something from us. I believe that healing from trauma is not just about overcoming pain but about reconnecting with those inner resources and pieces of ourselves that were silenced or lost or broken. Being a part of that process is what keeps me passionate about this work.

What are Your Self-Care Must Dos?

For self-care, I enjoy listening to music and playing the piano when I get the chance. Being active outside, especially in the sunshine, helps me feel refreshed and recharged. I also love taking spin classes to stay energized, and I never say no to ice cream!

What is a Turning Point in Your Life?

The biggest turning point in my life was realizing the importance of personal growth and healing, which my faith played a significant role in shaping.
